Wedding is a special moment in people’s life when they take an oath to stay together through thick and thin. It is a commitment to stay loyal, responsible and always be together in every situation for the rest of their life.
Wedding is a sacred relation that tie a man and woman as a husband and wife with a purpose. For this special relation it is also very necessary to look for an auspicious day to tie a knot between a bride and a groom to have a happy conjugal life.
In Nepal, before wedding it is very important for the boy and girl to invite or go to the priest to know whether their horoscope match or not.
After matching their horoscope, a priest helps them to find an auspicious day for them to marry. Priests decide a proper date of marriage after reading astrology or their Sastra.
As Nepalese are religious people that’s why they follow these rituals and decide their day of marriage after consulting with priest. Most of the auspicious days are held on some certain months and they are also called wedding seasons.
Mangsir (November) is a very popular month for wedding. Likewise Baisakh (April), Jestha (May), Ashad (June), Magh (January) and Falgun (Falgun) are also considered as auspicious months for marriage.
Mostly people marry on an auspicious day of these months after consulting with priests. Kartik (October) and Shrawan (July) months are not suitable for marriage according to religious point of view. It is a belief that marrying in these two months have to face a lot of problems and misery in conjugal life. So priests do not recommend to marry in these months.
Baisakh, Magh, Falgun and Mangsir are the best months to marry but before getting marry even in these months don’t forget to consult with a priest.
